There was
lots of activity going on today. Tom Murray, the marshall, was out again
with the set-up committee and the three judges, Mike Ducross, Jan
Peterson and Nelson Spencer for some touch ups to the tests.
A few groups headed out for some last minute training. The NRCC annual general meeting took place, along with the vetting of bitches. One female did not pass the vetting and has been scratched – dog number 50.
Bibs (supplied by Tri-Tronics) were handed out. Hats, dog food and handler goodie bags were handed out by Les Oakes, the Purina Representative. Other sponsors to thank are Eukanuba and John Sharpe, Ducks Unlimited and Jim Couch (who had assisted with spotting during the Calcutta auction the previous night).
After the handlers collected their items, it was time to sit back and relax. A pot luck supper was organized outside of Don Pollock’s trailer. Good food and wonderful camaraderie.
The convoy is scheduled to leave headquarters at 7:00 AM on Monday morning for an expected land triple.
