Information on Premiums: Premiums and Owner/Handler information will be mailed to the owner of each dog qualified beginning September 1, 2008 and thereafter will be mailed to each qualified owner immediately upon receipt of confirmation from Retriever News of the qualification.

Handlers’ and Workers’ packets will be available in the Promenade West Room at the Walden Yacht Club, on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 10:00 am.

Entries Close: 2:00 pm CT Thursday, October 30, 2008 for dogs that have qualified through October 26, 2008. This year you will be able to enter electronically using www.RFTEntry.com. In the event you wish to mail your entry, please mail it directly to:

Bitch Check: Bitch check will be conducted on Saturday, November 8, 2008 immediately following the National Retriever Club Annual Meeting in the parking lot adjacent to the Walden Yacht Club. Dr. Mary Tatum, DVM, will conduct the bitch check.

NRC Cocktail Party: Saturday, November 8, 2008 -- 6:30 pm in the Promenade Room of the Walden Yacht Club. Appropriate dress would be cocktail attire for the ladies and jackets and ties for the gentlemen.

Training Areas: 
​Training areas will be allocated each day by lottery drawing starting Tuesday evening, November 4, 2008 through Friday evening November 7, 2008. The drawing will take place in the lobby of the Lake Conroe Best Western each evening at 7:00 pm.

A list of training areas with descriptions and photos of each will be available along with maps, directions, and rules and regulations pertinent to each area.

Qualification Requirements: A 1st place carrying five Championship points plus two additional Championship points in Open, Limited, Special, or Restricted All-Age Stakes in AKC Member or Licensed Trials in the current calendar year. Winners of the previous year’s National Championship, current year’s Canadian National, current year’s National Amateur, and the current year’s Canadian National Amateur Championship Stake are automatic qualifiers — but the last two named must be handled by an Amateur in the National.
