Guidelines for Obituary Submission
Retriever News Policy on Obituary Notices for Dogs
For dogs carrying AKC or CKC prefix titles, Retriever News will grant a 1/8 page space for the first obituary submitted by the owner, without charge, if deaths are reported promptly for an announcement. If additional space is requested, it will be charged at regular advertising rates.
For dogs carrying the AKC suffix title of Master National Hunter “MNH,” Retriever News will grant a 1/8 page space for the first obituary submitted by the owner, without charge, if deaths are reported promptly for an announcement. If additional space is requested, it will be charged at regular advertising rates.
For dogs not carrying AKC or CKC prefix titles, obituary announcements will be published at regular advertising rates.
For dogs carrying National Championship titles, Retriever News will grant a 1/4 page of space with photo to the owner at no charge. If additional space is requested, it will be charged at regular advertising rates.
Policy on Obituary Notices for People in the Retriever Sport
The editors of Retriever News request that family members having knowledge of the death of any person in the Retriever sport, report that information promptly, so that due notice can be published. Such information has news value to the friends and acquaintances of the deceased, therefore Retriever News will grant a 1/8 page space for the first obituary submitted by a family member, without charge, for such announcements. If additional space is requested by family, friends, or clubs, they will be billed at our regular advertising rates.
Other requests received for testimonials or expressions of sympathy will be billed at regular advertising rates. These later requestors will be so advised.
